About Me: •
Until recently I created art as an avocation. I trained as and worked as an architect and eafter some time became a construction manager. Painting and drawing became my creative outlets. I have not developed a particular style but, omitting some forays into abstracts, I would call my work leaning to realist.
• I've always been intrigued with portraying depth and movement in paintings. I love landscapes because of the great depth of field involved, so I paint impressions of landscapes I’ve experienced, not necessarily pictorially accurate but as remembered imagery. More recently, I’ve been experimenting with stilllifes and flowers, where the sense of depth is critical and the subject more intimate.
• I touch on a variety of topics including landscapes and urban scapes, primarily sites in the Midwest. My abstracts are explorations creating an image of spatial depth wrapped around a free flowing framework of lines.
• Finally, I’ve dabbled in life drawing, nudes, and done some photography as a result of using photos I take as a basis for paintings.
